- Investek Company, LLC was originally established as a financial services company in Beverly Hills, California, in 1993. The firm is registered with the State of California as an Investment
- Advisor. The firm manages money, analyzes portfolios, and gives financial advice tailored to its clients' needs. The principal Advisor at Investek is Akbar Torbat. He earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1987. Dr. Torbat taught economics and finance at California State University- Los Angeles from 1989 to 2020. He also occasionally taught at the University of California - Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.
