Investek Company, LLC was originally established as a financial services company in Beverly Hills, California, in 1993. The firm is registered with the State of California as an Investment Advisor. The firm manages money, analyzes portfolios, and gives financial advice tailored to its clients' needs. The principal Advisor at Investek is Akbar Torbat. He earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1987. Dr. Torbat taught economics and finance at California State University- Los Angeles from 1989 to 2020. He also occasionally taught at the University of California - Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. Dr. Torbat has extensive experience in investment management and has taught many courses, including financial management, investments, international finance, economics, and money and banking. Dr. Torbat's articles have been published in scholarly journals such as The World Economy.
